This story begins in September 2005, when we made the decision to adopt a little girl from China. We were so excited knowing that within 9 or 10 months we would have our match and live happily ever after. Little did we know that we would not see our little girl's face for the first time until more than 4 years later. I am still amazed that we went through a process that took more than 4 years but constantly made you feel like you were only a few months away. I still laugh when I think we actually contemplated paying extra money to expedite the processing of our passports because were not sure they would arrive before we were due to travel to China. It is amazing how looking in the eyes of this precious little girl can wipe away several years of disappointments and frustration. We prayed for patience and in the end we realize God granted us patience. Note to self...next time pray for expedience.
